Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Ah, the wonders of the GOOG. Seek and ye shall find.

Why did you bother to build Full As A Goog?
Blogs are a useful way of distilling information from people in the know. Blog authors in turn distill information from their experience, mailing lists, the web, even other blogs. The problem with any diary is that it's updated now and then. I got tired of having to check through my list of favourite blogs for changes. I wanted a one stop clog of blogs and so "Full As A Goog" was born.

What blogs do you aggregate and why?
For the moment I'm aggregating blogs I find interesting. One of the features on my wish list is to enable users to dynamically add their own blogs. However, the website is not database driven (it's XML driven) and I haven't figured out a clever way to store user preferences yet.

How can I fill the goog with my favourite blog?
Just drop me a note and the chances are I'll add it myself. Heh, the more interest I get the more I'll work on the site.

What syndication feeds to you accept?
The site currently handles RSS 0.91, RSS 0.92, RSS 1.0 and RSS 2.0 syndication feeds. The RSS 1.0+ feeds are the preferred format as they actually provides a timestamp for when entries were made.

Why do so many blog entries have no date assigned?
The most common blog syndication feeds at the moment are RSS 0.91-2. Unfortunately, this XML schema only has a *build date* for the blog feed and not a timestamp for individual entries. So they all appear to be generated on the same day. In order to blend these entries with others in the clog of blogs I make a guesstimate. Currently I'm using the build date for the feed and then subtracting 2-days for each subsequent entry, based on the assumption that the average posting frequency is every two days.

What is your favourite blogging tool?
Without a doubt it has to be MoveableType. I use MT for all the community blogs I have a hand in (Daemonite and CFGURU)
